Submissions

 

We want the best photographs of New Zealand freeskiing. Comb through your files for the absolute gold: action, equipment, portraits and the scene-setting downtime shots that capture the culture of the sport.

This may include Kiwis skiing overseas or foreign-type folk who have had a major impact on the local scene and/or done some of their best work in New Zealand (J P Auclair springs readily to mind). Your work will stand a much better chance of publication if you make a disciplined submission that has been critically self-edited to include only your best stuff.

A History of New Zealand Freeskiing (“The Book”) – Licensing Agreement for Photographers:

 

The photographer will:

  • always retain the copyright for their photographs

  • ensure they have obtained model release(s) if required

  • ensure photos are named with photographer-location-talent if they want their photos to be correctly captioned, attributed and remunerated  

  • consent to the use of their photograph(s) in

    • this forthcoming nonfiction book (The Book) including use in the future eBook, future editions, related websites, electronic versions, and presentations throughout the world

    • promotional material in any format or channel or platform for the purpose of promoting The Book or eBook in any format throughout the world

    • the freeskiing.nz website and other websites used to promote the book throughout the world

  • be paid on publication of The Book by bank-to-bank transfer in:

    • $NZ dollars to a New Zealand bank account

    • $AUD dollars at the XE.com exchange rate (with $NZ dollars) on the day of publication to an Australian bank account

    • $NZ via PayPal (less PayPal fees)

  • be paid GST inclusive the following per photograph published in The Book:

    • front cover (or both covers if same image) $NZ 1000

    • double page spread $NZ 250

    • full page or larger (up to but not including DPS) $100

    • half page or larger (up to but not including full page) $50

    • quarter page or larger (up to but not including half page) $25

    • smaller photos $10

    • back cover at interior page rates

  • by making a submission agree to these terms
